Managing Holds

Occasionally, you might have an instance where you may need to manually void, redeem, or release a hold on a gift or stored value card. If so, you can follow the steps within this article to do so. 

Note: You will not be able to perform these actions unless you have manager-level permissions.

Step 1
Search for the customer card in the Virtual Terminal. Once you find the card within the search results, click the Show Details button within the corresponding row. This will open the Customer Info page.

Step 2
Find the hold you wish to either void, redeem, or release within the transaction history. Once found, click the Show Details button within the corresponding row.

Step 3
A new page will open showing transaction details along with buttons labeled Void, Hold Redeem, and Hold Release.

If you wish to void the hold, click the Void button. This will get rid of the transaction altogether.

If you wish to redeem the hold, click the Hold Redeem button. This will take this value off of the gift or stored value card.

If you wish to release the hold, click the Hold Release button. This will send the funds back to the gift or stored value card.

Once you perform your desired action, a pop-up will appear to confirm success. Once you refresh the page, you can see the updated balance on the customer info page.
