Overview of Customer Segmentation

The customer segmentation tool is a powerful way for you to filter and query the data stored in your customer database. Depending on your integration with Clutch, your customer database will contain data about the members of your loyalty program and/or your identified (non-member) customers. The data recorded for each customer will also vary depending on your integration and your customer model design.

Any time you need to narrow down your base customers to a more specific group, segmentation can be used. Using these segmentation tools allows you, as a marketer, to customize and personalize the customer experience. Segments can be used for reporting, marketing blasts, and campaigns. By creating these segments, you are allowing your company to target the right people.

Different Segments

The Base tab has been created by Clutch and covers your “base” member or customer groups.

Click the Shared tab to view all the segments created by and shared with you and other users in your Clutch account.

Click the Private tab to view all the segments created by you and set to private.

Exporting Segments

All segments can be exported to a .csv file. You may want to export a segment in order to perform your own analysis or import your data into another program or software.
